It took a while but finally my new Geometric necklace is finished! To soften the contrast I've used off white beads and mixed matte with silver lined Delicas. I'm happy with the closure but have to test it to see if it can actually support over 100gr of Delicas. Will keep you posted 😊 inspired by Kate McKinnon and Contemporary Geometric Beadwork
I was busy sorting out my beads and found the red bead mix which I've had for a number of years! I've tried using it in different projects but was never happy with results. This time I also found a lonesome tube of copper beads and I think that the bangle I've just finished has turned out very nicely. The band is in RAW and the wings are also uneven on each sides giving the bangle a really irregular look. Hope you like 😊
My new kaleidocycle bangle is all finished! And I managed to put it together in such a way that each turn changes from black to silver 😊 can't wait to wear it!
There was a postal delay but finally my package from Perlen Poesie has arrived and I can show off my certificates and prizes 😊 I was thrilled to have reached the nominations stage but am still blown away by my cuff "With a Twist" wining 1 of the 10 awards. Thank you again to all at Perlen Poesie, the judges, all the wonderful sponsors, fellow nominees and winners!
While nursing my cough I got bead for a bit and just finished my new bangle. It's spired by Debra Schwartz's original bangle and Contemporary Geometric Beadwork. Hope you like 😊
Here are some new photos of my cuff. I was beyond thrilled when it reached the nominations stage in Perlen Poesie International Bead Awards 2016 but I was completely blown away when I found out that it actually won 1 of the 10 prizes 😊 I would like to again thank all the judges and sponsors and congratulate fellow nominees and winners 😊
I've been approached and have agreed to take part in local Christmas Arts and Crafts market this year. As my pieces are really big and pricy I've been busy making smaller bracelets, earrings and pendants. And here's my latest pendant. Hope you like 😊
This is my first arrow bracelet made with size 11 galvanized seed beads and decorated with 15s to define each triangle. It's quiet weighty and wraps beautifully around my wrist. It will go beautifully with my golden collar. Hope you like 😊
Still in my "going back to basics" mode I've made another double-layered Rick Rack bangle but this time with size 11 seed beads, which are square holed and gold filled giving them a shimmering effect. Haven't used these Czech beads in ages and am loving the rich look they've added to my bangle! The outer layer has 6 beads across while the inner layer has only 5 beads. It fits better this way but also gives the bangle a bit of a twirl when on. Thanks again to Kate MacKinnon and Contemporary Geometric Beadwork for inspiration!
My wait was over this morning as this year's IBA nominations were announced. I'm beyond happy to let you know that both my pieces have been accepted! I'd like to congratulate all the nominees for the gorgeous pieces which were selected!
